Taking the Message to the Streets -- by Pat Garcia
As we begin the year 2013, people in various nations are battling to be heard. Tyranny and oppression are no longer functioning properly as instruments of intimidation. Delayed gratification no longer soothes the souls of people who have been living in poverty, and honor in dying for the cause no longer wipes away the tears from the eyes of mothers who see their children, regardless of nationality, race, or age being slaughtered.
If someone had predicted at the beginning of 2012 that revolution would sweep the world and leaders such as Muammar Gaddafi and Hosni Mubarak would no longer be sitting on their thrones, no one would have believed him, or her, and the prophecy would have probably been laughed at as inconceivable or considered ridiculous. Yet, it happened, and those countries are battling to find themselves in a world that is quickly changing.
The thoughts of many people, as we walked over into the New Year of 2012, were we live in a secure world. Thus, the crises, which did appear, met us with unbelief and confronted us with our lack of knowledge about people living in this global village. No one imagined that the ring of freedom would bellow out through nations where people had long lived under fear and tyranny. However, people began to awaken, and their cries for equality and respect were heard around the world. Therefore, 2012 will go down in history as being the year of multicultural global change––People took their message to the streets.
But, is this something new?
Are the birth pains of equality, sounds that have never been heard before?
If we would only take the time and examine history, we would see a parallel thread, which has run itself throughout this world since mankind has been on the earth. Let us ignore what happened in ancient medieval history and look at what has happened in the past century. The twentieth century lies only twelve years behind us, and yet, it shows us inequality entwined with poverty, lack of education, and abuse has not decreased; instead it increased. The same issues which caused the masses to immigrate to North America, which caused the French to revolt against the ruling class in the French Revolution, which caused the downfall of the monarchial rule of countries like Britain, Spain, and Russia still exist. People are dying from starvation, children are being used as cheap labor, and women and children are being abused mentally and sexually, and each time improvements took place people stood up loudly proclaiming their message as they took it to the streets.
Where do we go from here?
The injustices of man upon humanity are no longer tolerable. The cry has gone forth. People are no longer willing to live a life of deprivation and starvation. They want better education and the opportunity to rise beyond the poverty level they were born in. Women, no longer consider it an honor for their sons and daughters to die in wars, which do not end the disagreements, but strengthens the bed of hatred between the different cultures within a nation. People are seeking peace. Taking the message to the streets.
Is peace possible?
Possible yes, likely no.
The message is loud and clearly defined. People in every nation are taking their message to the streets.
- Will their message be heard?
- Will the responsible people start listening?
- Will the annihilation of cultures cease?
- Will the genocide of nations find its end?
The answer lies in the willingness of mankind to step through the portals of integrity, trust, and respect, as it rids itself of independent, hedonistic philosophies, which breed discontent and dissatisfaction as it enslaves other human beings to feed its alter ego. If this does not occur, streets all over the world will continue to be filled as people from every nation wake up and gather together, proclaiming their message against tyranny and domination by Taking it to the streets!
Shalom,
Pat Garcia

So true Patti, The messages needs to be take to the streets. It is time we start living the life that God promised us and not the one man is trying to give to us. Please let us take our message to the streets!

Patti, a brilliant analysis as usual. I think we are taking the message to the streets, but the ears of the very few that force their rules on the world need serious washing.

Patricia, as always you hit the nail right on its' head. What if fear is that due to all the dictatorships in the world, as the people take the message to the streets they will be slaughtered.
My prayer is that more civilized countries will be more proactive in listening to the people. However, I think the glimmer is slim at the moment.
I love your words... they are powerful! Keep it up!

Greed and the Human Condition. Down through the millenniums it has always been the same. History (in which few seem to have an interest these days) and cause and effect: The greedy are the first to moan when it comes back at them, and it will.
It is hard enough for me to be mindful of my own thoughts, words and deeds; but for each human who attends to these, the world becomes that much better. So, thank you, Patricia, for thinking your good thoughts and for acting on them and writing about them. --Ciao. Samantha.
