Is Donald Trump…okay? It’s a question voters need to ask themselves before Election Day.
Trump’s political behavior has always been unconventional, to put it mildly. However, his recent words and actions appear to be indicative of declining mental acuity. This has especially been on display since Vice President Harris became the Democratic nominee in August.
It’s obvious that Trump has been deeply rattled and unsettled on the campaign trail since President Biden dropped out of the race. This has been evident by the language Trump has used in his speeches and other public remarks.
Trump’s recent conduct has led some observers to question if he’s really gone “off the rails” this time, because it’s beyond his typical outrageous political behavior.
Recall when Trump questioned whether Kamala Harris is Black. He made the racist accusation in front of a room full of prominent Black journalists. Is this normal behavior for a presidential nominee or any person?
Imagine if Vice President Harris had questioned Trump’s race in front of a room full of White journalists, implying that he only decided to call himself White for political expediency.
Obviously, such an argument would be ludicrous, as is Trump’s wild contention about the racial identity of Harris — which smacks of overt racism.
Trump has also launched a range of other personal attacks on Harris based on her mixed-race identity and gender.
He’s mocked Kamala’s name by calling her “Kamabla”. This sounds like another racist dog whistle to Trump’s White supremacist MAGA base.
As part of mocking her racial identity and gender, Trump has also lampooned Harris as being “dumb as a rock” and “a low IQ person” — in addition to a slew of other juvenile personal insults.
Again, is this rational political behavior in a very close election?
These are just a few examples of Trump’s erratic behavior, which goes beyond just weird.
Trump previously told a conference of conservative Christians that Harris dislikes Catholics and Jews, even though Biden is Catholic and Kamala’s husband is Jewish.
And let’s not forget about Trump’s repeated insinuations that Americans will be eaten by the likes of movie character “Hannibal Lecter” due to an impending immigrant invasion if Harris is elected.
What’s that all about and why does he repeat it?
And, if being eaten by a fictitious cannibal serial killer weren’t crazy enough, Trump has also asked the crowd at campaign events whether it’s preferable to be eaten by sharks versus being electrocuted in a sinking boat?
Trump says he would rather be electrocuted than be eaten by sharks. This is simply mind-boggling stuff. Plus, many other examples abound of Trump’s more recent disturbing conduct.
Trump’s baffling behavior reinforces the worst fears of some voters that he is mentally unfit for the presidency.
The Takeaway
Is Trump just running scared or is his mental acuity deteriorating in full public view and in real time?
The conventional wisdom is that Trump has become increasingly agitated by the new political reality of competing against Harris. But has Trump also become untethered from reality, as his poll numbers continue to stagnate nationally and in critical swing states?
If you have been wondering about Trump’s mental fitness for office, then you’re not alone. Every voter must take this into account.
Asking aloud whether Trump is okay and calling out his increasingly erratic behavior is a smart strategic pivot for the Harris-Walz campaign in the final weeks before Election Day.

All good points. I believe Trump is a danger to the United States. He is easily manipulated by people who praise him, including other countries leaders.
