William Chen is a graduate from the U. of TN / Chattanooga with a Bachelor’s in Communication, minoring in Business Administration. Chen specializes in visual storytelling including still photography, graphic design, and video and audio production. Chen has a diversified portfolio ranging from student publications such as Chattanooa’s Strike Magazine, UTC publications like the Communication department’s Rising Rock and the UTC ECHO, where he served as editor, and has assisted the local PBS station with campaign promotion. As an Asian American, Chen hopes to amplify minority voices through his creative skillset.

Protect LGTBQ+ Children – by William Chen

While Tennessee does not have the most progressive history when it comes to legislation, it was not the proposal of the pride flag ban in schools that recently passed, but it was the vote that passed the legislation that shocked me. 

The vote that passed it was 70 to 24, and if that is any indication of the sentiment of the state population as a whole, it concerns me a little.
