Submission Guidelines 

The ADR invites submissions of academic papers related to our menu  categories. Submit lay the 15th of the month from September – May. However, there is no issue in December and the January issue focuses on Trends 2027. Further, we are on summer hiatus from June-August.

There is no charge for publication – the ADR is a civic engagement service.  Email submissions to Levine.AmericanDiversityReport@gmail.com

STYLE

• FONT: 12pt New Times Roman
• SPACING: double-spacing
• AUTHOR:  First and Last names of author spelled out as preferred
• ABSTRACT/EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: 1-3 paragraphs plus a short list of key words
• FORMAT: Microsoft Word
• SUBTITLES: Capitalize the subtitles
• CITATIONS:  Place the citation reference in parentheses in the text rather than in footnotes – include citation references in the Bibliography.
• GRAPHICS: Tables and charts must be formatted as JPEG 300-800 dpi and placed at end of document when emailed (no art work or photos)
• PARAGRAPHS: Use extra spacing between paragraphs, not indentation
• BIO:  Up to 100 words. Include affiliation(s) of author, Title and  relevant background. (Longer bios will be edited)
• WORD COUNT:  1,600 – 5,000 words (not including Bibliography or Bio)

LOGISTICS

• SERIES: Longer articles can be divided into Part 1 and Part 2 to meet word count limits.
• COPYRIGHT:  Authors retain the copyright to their articles and have permission to republish.
• EDITS: ADR has authors’ permission to edit grammar,  punctuation, and unnecessary duplications. Major edits must have author approval.
• AI: Articles generated by AI can be eliminated from submission approval.
• SUBSCRIPTIONS: Author email addresses will be added to the newsletter email subscribers list so that published articles may be received. Maintaining subscription is advised but not required.
