In honor of Women’s History Month, hear about the women who inspire us and influence history. Let’s begin with a quote from Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, founder of Women’s Federation for World Peace and friend of the ADR:
“Women have the magical power to create harmony and to soften hearts. Brides build bridges. The world of the future can be a world of reconciliation and peace, but only if it is based on the maternal love and affection of women. This is a true power of womanhood. The time has come for the power of true womanhood to save the world.”
“Thank you for inviting me to share a quote of a woman who has deeply inspired and empowered me. Many women came to mind but I selected one that is at the top for me. Her name is Shirley Chisholm, the first black woman to become a candidate to run for President of the United States of America. The quote of hers that I want to share is:
” If they don’t give you a seat at the table, bring in a folding chair.”
Shirley Chisholm fought for justice, diversity, inclusion and women’s rights. She remains an inspiration to me in her tireless pursuit as a humanitarian who fought for what she believed in.”

“The most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is merely tenacity.” – Amelia Earhart
Working in the male-dominated industry of commercial real estate I can totally relate to Amelia Earhart. Women’s History Month is important to every woman wanting to excel in her career and life. Women’s history is important to learn from our past to create a better future. Our accomplishments and pitfalls are worth recording. How are we to learn from others if those actions are written or filmed somewhere and shared? I am coming to appreciate tenacity more and more as I age. I keep working to improve my business, The Concierge Office Suites, for all the clients we serve. Tenacity has been a huge part of celebrating my 27 year old business baby. Keep following your dreams with tenacity! Don’t just wish you could “whatever”. Go out and do it!
